An Apprenticeship is a great way to jump start your career in care.
What can an Apprenticeship offer me?
Within Doncaster Council we offer Apprenticeship programmes in both Adult Care and Child Care. Each programme runs for 15 months during which time the apprentice will gain valuable work experience in a residential home, day centre or children’s centre. At the same time learners will be supported to work towards their Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, (Adults) or Level 2 Certificate in Child Care, meaning that each apprentice should leave the programme with both experience and a professional qualification.
Full support is given to each learner throughout the programme by a dedicated assessor. In addition learners are also supported within the programme to achieve Functional skills qualifications in English and Maths, thus increasing their chances of gaining employment or allowing them to apply for further education such as a Nursing or Social Work degree.
