News and Events

This page is to let you know about regular and one off events, and keep you updated with the latest news around Workforce Development. We also have a calendar so you can easily see what’s happening when.

Workforce Forum

This forum is aimed at not only independent and voluntary sector providers, but also individual employers, personal assistants and carers, social enterprises and anyone else who may provide a support service to vulnerable adults, who does not fall into any of these categories, such as transport, leisure, housing etc.

In addition to regular updates on training, recruitment and retention, safeguarding and the latest news from Skills for Care, the forum provides the opportunity to network, share best practice and seek help on issues you may have with your peers.

It takes place 3 times a year, on the last Thursday in January, the third Thursday in May (avoiding the Bank Holiday) and the last Thursday in September in room 29 at the Mary Woollett Centre from 13:45 until 16:30

Dementia and End of Life Support (DELS) Groups

The Dementia and End of Life Support (DELS) Group is the result of a merger between the Care Home Liaison Group facilitated by Older People's Mental Health and the End of Life Network Group which grew out of the Skills for Care 'Managers and Champions' project.

It is open to all providers who deliver cate and support to vulnerable adults living with mental health problems such as dementia and those approaching the end of life.

It meets quarterly, with future meetings taking place at the Civic Office, Waterdale, Doncaster DN1 3BU, from 13:00 - 16:00

Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Network

This network is aimed at all manager, deputies, and/or infection control champions. The purpose of this group is to provide support for care providers in meeting the required standards, and deliver updates around new infections and the current outbreak status. It also provides an opportunity to share best practice and seek answers to any issues or problems with your peers and professional from the field of infection control.
