Recycling in flats

The council provides recycling stations for approximately 4000 flats in the borough. Each recycling station includes four blue bins for separate, bagged materials.

What can you recycle in your blue bins?

Bin 1:

  • paper, magazines, leaflets, junk mail, telephone directories, catalogues (collected every two weeks)

Bin 2:

  • cardboard boxes, corrugated cardboard, cereal boxes (collected weekly)

Bin 3:

  • food cans, drinks cans, aerosol cans, clean aluminium foil (collected every two weeks)

Bin 4:

  • plastic bottles - including milk, drinks, detergent, shampoo and washing up liquid bottles (collected weekly)

Changes to collections:

  • for updates and information on collections during periods of bad weather follow Doncaster Council on Facebook and Twitter.

Future plans

The council is continuing to assess more flats across the borough where alterations to the waste storage areas are necessary. These locations will be added to the service as soon as possible.
