Psychoactive Substances Act

Illegal trade in so-called 'legal highs'

On 26 May 2016 it became illegal for dealers to sell psychoactive substances and they could face up to 7 years in prison.

'Headshops' and UK-based online dealers have been shut down, helping to protect potential users from harm and communities from anti-social behaviour.

For more information, the Home Office have produced a guidance leaflet for young people explaining the changes in the law and the risks of using these drugs.
