First aid at work - schools

Course content:

  • School Based Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course
  • tailored to meet the needs of staff employed within a school setting
  • theory and practical instruction using specialised equipment, and individual practical work and group scenarios
  • delegates will be assessed by the tutor throughout the day and must pass each section to qualify for the award

Target audience:

  • any employee working in a low risk environment (as per HSE guidelines) wanting to become a qualified First Aider

Objectives:

To achieve the standard Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification, enabling delegates to administer First Aid in the workplace. By the end of this course delegates will be able to understand:

  • understand the requirements of legislation relevant to first aid 
  • understand incident and casualty management 
  • resuscitation 
  • how to deal with shock (including heart attack) 
  • how to deal with severe bleeding 
  • the causes of and deal with unconsciousness

  • 1 day

  • £65pp

Identity:

  • you must take proof of your ID to the course, (for you to be issued with a certificate) - eg your passport or driving licence plus something to confirm your address such as a recent utility bill, bank statement etc
  • if you don’t have a passport or driving licence, you need to provide two documents that can confirm your identity and address
