Going off GRiD – Young people in Doncaster Launch dedicated website during Children’s Mental Health Week
GRiD, a brand-new website made by young people, for young people in Doncaster has officially launched during Children’s Mental Health Week. The website provides essential resources, advice and activities that local teens can access – including specific resources for supporting mental health.
This year’s Children’s Mental Health Week theme, “Know Yourself, Grow Yourself,” encourages young people to understand their own emotions, build resilience, and take control of their personal growth so they can thrive. GRiD aligns with this by providing practical advice, informative videos and mental health support in an easy-to-understand format and entirely written by young people.
GRiD has resources dedicated to help young people navigate challenges and seek support. Whether it’s Mental Health, SEND support, or opportunities in the community, GRiD has been created to reflect the real concerns of Doncaster’s young people.
Via ‘Your Voice’ and consultations, young people told us they don't always want to talk to an adult about their thoughts and feelings, they want their voices heard and to feel valued. That’s why GRiD exists – to become a safe, accessible space where young people can find trusted information, shared experiences, and real advice from their peers.
GRiD is the place for young people to go when they need a little support. If you’re a parent, carer, or professional supporting young people in Doncaster, encourage them to visit GRiD – a platform designed to help teens feel seen, heard, understood, and connected to others in their local area.
