We want to work with more people with lived experience of care and support to make good changes happen in Doncaster.

We call this way of working co-production.

This information tells you about what to expect if we are working together to make change happen.

Planning work together

A group of people sitting around a table listening to one of the people speak.

We will work together from the start to the end.

We will work together on everything, from planning to making changes happen and checking to see if they work.

A person using a wheelchair on an access ramp

We will make sure everyone can be fully involved in any conversations and decisions.

This could include things like checking whether you prefer to meet up in person or join meetings or events online and supporting you to get to a meeting place.

A person waving

We will ask you to complete a Working with me profile about yourself, so we can work well together.

We will keep this profile safe and secure.

A hand holding some bank notes

We will tell you about our Co-production Recognition and Reward Policy and give you a copy of our Getting paid for your time co-production guide.

You can tell us how you want to be rewarded for your time and expenses.

When we meet

We will make sure you are comfortable in the room, and you know who people are.

A sign for a fire exit.

We will make sure you know where the toilets and fire exits are, and what to do if there is an emergency.

Mugs of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, and glasses of water and juice.

We will provide hot and cold drinks, and biscuits or other snacks.

If we meet for a full day or over the middle of the day, we will provide lunch or payment for lunch.

A mobile phone

We will ask people to have their phones on silent or turned off. But we don’t mind if you need to take or make a phone call. If this happens, we will find somewhere private for you.

We will agree how we will all work together at the start of the meeting or event.

After the meeting or event

A social worker talking to another person. They are both sitting down.

When we’ve finished the meeting or event, we will check to see how everybody felt it went.

If there are lots of things you want to talk about after the meeting, we may arrange another time to meet.

We will make sure this happens as soon as possible after the event.

We will make sure you can get home safely.

We will make sure you are paid promptly.

You should receive any payment within two weeks of the event.
