The Health and Safety team is responsible for enforcement of health and safety law in most service and retail premises within Doncaster.
Who Enforces Health and Safety Law in my Workplace?
The enforcement of health and safety law in workplaces in Doncaster is split between two Enforcing Authorities; the Council’s Health and Safety Team and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
It is important that you contact the correct Enforcing Authority directly to discuss any concerns or complaints that you may have with regards to the health and safety of employees or any others who may be affected by the work activity of a workplace.
The Health and Safety team is responsible for the enforcement of health and safety law in specified workplace premises within Doncaster. Some of these sectors include retail, offices, hospitality venues, cinemas, leisure centres, warehouse and distribution centres amongst others.
The HSE is responsible for the enforcement of health and safety law in workplaces such as manufacturing, schools and construction sites amongst others.

How Do I Make a Complaint?
To complain about health and safety issues at a workplace that the Local Authority is responsible for you can either contact by:

Health and Safety Enforcement in Local Authority enforced premises
The Council has authorised Health and Safety Inspectors who are responsible for the investigation of complaints received in accordance with Council policy.
Health and Safety Inspectors have a power of entry into business premises at any reasonable time to allow them to carry out any investigation where it is suspected that there could be an issue with health and safety.
