Statement of Community Involvement

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a statutory document setting out how the council will engage with our communities, businesses and organisations in the planning process.

The council places great importance on effective community involvement. It can be undertaken in a number of different forms dependant on what we want to achieve; whether it is to inform, consult, involve, collaborate or empower. In planning, we are committed to public engagement in the preparation of planning policies and during the consideration of planning applications.
