CCTV Requests
If you have been involved in a road traffic collision or other incident, the City of Doncaster Council (the Council) will only provide footage to an insurance company, solicitors, police force or other official body acting on your behalf in accordance with the exemptions under the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA), unless your rights of access apply.

Information we need
The organisation acting on your behalf should contact the Council directly, we need the following information from them:
We will ask your insurance company or legal representative to contact us to make payment before the footage is searched for and, if available, sent to them. Our charges are:
- their name and address / email address, on letter headed paper or sent from a company email account;
- the name of their client (you);
- the date, time and location of the incident;
- the details of all of the vehicles involved (vehicle registration, make, model, colour), if applicable; and
- a description of the incident.
We will ask your insurance company or legal representative to contact us to make payment before the footage is searched for and, if available, sent to them. Our charges are:
- Search only – £60.00 plus VAT
- Search and supply copy of footage – £60.00 search fee and £60.00 per camera to supply footage plus VAT
Why we charge
Public surveillance CCTV systems are installed to deal with crime, anti-social behaviour and disorder. When our staff are searching for the footage of accidents or incidents, they are not carrying out their usual work therefore there is an administration fee for the search and production of footage.
If you need to request footage because of an incident that has an element of crime
If you have been the victim of a crime or it is a crime-related incident, for example, if you returned to your vehicle and found damage to it, these incidents should be reported to the police by calling either 999 in an emergency, or 101 in a non-emergency. The police can make a request direct to us to view our footage and if held it will be provided to the investigating officer.
