The insurance team publishes data in relation to insurance claims made against the council relating to public highways. These claims are judged on their own merits and settlements are only made where there is a legal liability to do so.

Highway Claims - road, footpath, drain cover and bollard defects

These reports detail claims made against the council relating to damage or injury on public highways and those claims where a payment has been made. The reports cover claims relating to incidents occurring after 1st January 2013 as a result of road, pothole, footpath, drain cover or bollard defects.  It is updated on a quarterly basis, with the last updated date being included within the report.

It should be noted that due to migrating claim systems in 2018, claims relating to property damage (including vehicles) were once recorded under one heading "Property", however they are now split between "Property" and "Vehicle", you should therefore consider both columns when looking at claims relating to vehicle damage.
