'Ride, Stride and Thrive’ Active Travel Social Prescribing Project
This Privacy Notice sets out what you need to know about how City of Doncaster Council (the Council) will use your information to enable us to deliver the ‘Ride, Stride and Thrive’ Active Travel Social Prescribing Project. The Council is the data controller of this project and is committed to meeting its data protection obligations and handling your information securely. You should make sure you read and understand this notice before submitting your information to us.
The Council is working with project partners Pedal Ready and SYSTRA Ltd as data processors to deliver this programme. This is a pilot project for Active Travel England, who have requested that the project data is shared with themselves and the national evaluators, Sheffield Hallam University.
What information about you do we collect?
- personal information – name, address, telephone number, date of birth, age group, gender, employment status
- special category personal information – your ethnicity, information about your physical and mental health, sexual orientation
- duration of session
How do we collect information about you?
How will your information be used?
- To document your journey using the programme and will not be used for any other purposes. We may extract personal and/or statistical information relating to your session to evaluate and monitor for the purpose of the Ride, Stride and Thrive programme.
- To book you on to activities such as
- Cycle training and led rides
- Led walks (individual and group)
- Personalised travel planning
- Inclusive cycling sessions
- Stakeholder engagement events

Who will your information be shared with?
For the Ride, Stride and Thrive programme we may need to share your information with:
- The project team
- Delivery partner – Pedal Ready
- Monitoring and evaluation partner - SYSTRA
- Funders of the pilot - Active Travel England and the national evaluators - Sheffield Hallam University
- Support services where a referral has been received
In certain cases we may also share your information with other individuals and organisations. For example, if you make a complaint to your Councillor, or if the sharing would help with a safeguarding issue, or help prevent a crime. Sometimes, we might share your information without your knowledge.
The City of Doncaster Council will never sell your information to anyone else.
How long will we keep your information?
We will keep your information for only so long as is necessary – the table below sets out typical timescales for each activity:

Changes to this privacy notice
Data Protection Officer (DPO)
