Survey for Family and Friends Guide - Young Person's Questions - Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice sets out what you need to know about how City of Doncaster Council will use your information to ensure that the friends and family guide is caters to the needs of residents; we are gathering contact details on a voluntary basis in order to administer the prize draw for taking part in the survey.
The City of Doncaster Council is committed to meeting its data protection obligations and handling your information securely. You should make sure you read and understand this notice before submitting your information to us.
What information about you do we collect?
- personal information – such as: your name, first three digits of postcode, telephone number, age bracket
- special category personal information – such as: your ethnicity, information about your physical and mental health, Sexual Orientation, Gender, carer status, Special Educational Needs or disabilities, foster/temporary care.

For the voluntary prize draw, the City of Doncaster Council collects and uses information about you on the basis that you have given us your consent to do so. You may withdraw your consent and ask us not to use your information to administer the prize draw for taking part in the survey by contacting us at healthylearning@doncaster.gov.uk
Who will your information be shared with
In certain cases, we may also share your information with other individuals and organisations. For example, if you make a complaint to your Councillor, or if the sharing would help with a safeguarding issue or help prevent a crime. Sometimes, we might share your information without your knowledge.
The City of Doncaster Council will never sell your information to anyone else.
How long will we keep your information?
We only keep your information for as long as we need to, after which we will securely delete the information. We will keep your information for only so long as is necessary – the table below sets out typical timescales for each activity:

Changes to this privacy notice
Data Protection Officer (DPO)
- monitoring the City of Doncaster Council’s compliance with data protection law;

- co-operating and consulting with the Information Commissioner’s Office (see ‘Complaints’ below).
