We Support Our Mums Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice sets out what you need to know about how the City of Doncaster Council (the Council) will use your information for the We Support Our Mums programme.
The Council is committed to meeting its data protection obligations and handling your information securely. You should make sure you read and understand this notice before submitting your information to us.
What information about you do we collect?
For the processing to which this notice relates to be carried out we use the following information:
• For Venue’s main point of contact and Breastfeeding champions (staff at a venue who receive We Support Our Mums training) and prospective members of the scheme: name, telephone number, email, venue address.
• For Mums who submit a review of a breastfeeding venue and want us to respond: name and contact details.

How do we collect information about you?
We collect your information from you directly e.g. by asking you to complete the online form, or when you telephone or email the We Support Our Mums team.
How will your information be used?
Your information might be used to: maintain a record of all venues signed up to the We Support Our Mums scheme, to populate the We Support Our Mums directory which will be available to all families across the borough and to maintain a database of staff members who have received the We Support Our Mums champion training. It will also be used to promote positive reviews on breastfeeding venues.
The Legal Basis for using your information
Consent (and withdrawing consent)
The Council collects and uses information about you on the basis that you have given us your consent to do so. You may withdraw your consent and ask us not to use information about you by emailing WeSupportOurMums@doncaster.gov.uk.

Who will your information be shared with?
In certain cases we may share your information if this would help with a safeguarding issue, or help prevent a crime. The Council will never sell your information to anyone else.
How long will we keep your information?
For venues, we will keep your personal data, unless you tell us of a change of contact, for three years when your membership will be reviewed. Mums’ reviews are kept for three years. All data is kept confidentially and securely deleted.

This notice is kept under regular review to make sure it is up to date and accurate.

The Council is required by law to have a DPO. The DPO has a number of duties, including:
• monitoring the Council’s compliance with data protection law;
• providing expert advice and guidance on data protection;
• acting as the point of contact for data subjects; and,
• co-operating and consulting with the Information Commissioner’s Office (see ‘Complaints’ below).

If you are unhappy with the way in which your information has been handled you should contact the Council’s Data Protection Officer so that we can try and put things right.

The ICO is the UK's independent body set up to uphold information rights, and they can investigate and adjudicate on any data protection related concerns you raise with them.
