MOT vehicle testing
We operate an independent MOT testing station that not only tests our own vehicles but ones owned by the general public too.
Why choose a Council MOT test centre?
Hundreds of people use our test centre each month and are satisfied with the service they receive.
The following is taken from an article published on MoneySavingExpert.com about why some customers prefer to use MOT test centres based at local councils:
"By law these test centres (though not taxi or Crown stations) must be open to the general public. As they generally only carry out tests and don't do repairs (always check), there's no incentive for mechanics to find faults that don't exist."
"Thousands of savvy MoneySavers have used these test centres and the vast majority report their cars either consistently pass the test, or need fewer repairs compared with MOTs done at other garages."
What vehicles do we test?
We are authorised to test the following classes of vehicle:
Type | Cost | Re-test fee (if required) |
---|---|---|
Car or light van (Class 4) | £45 | £10 |
Light Minibuses ( Class 5) | £55 | £20 |
Light Commercial (Class 7) | £55 | £20 |
Note that we do not do motorbike tests.
