Flood Alerts and Warnings and Weather Updates - 7 January

Latest information following snow and rainfall across Doncaster (as of 3pm 7 January)

There are currently three Flood Warnings** in place (as of 3pm 7 January)

  • River Don at Fishlake - Flooding is expected for: Fishlake including Trundle Lane, Far Bank Lane, East Field Road, Dirty Lane, Main Street, Church Lane, Grove Road, Pinfold Lane, Sour Lane and Wood Lane.
  • River Don at Stainforth - Flooding is expected for: Stainforth including the area bounded by River Don, Doncaster Road, East Lane, Emerson Avenue, Field Road, Oldfield Crescent, the railway line and the M18 motorway.
  • River Don at South Bramwith - Flooding is expected for: South Bramwith including Bramwith Lane, Hall Lane and Low Lane.

There are currently four Flood Alerts* in place (as of 3pm 7 January)

  • Lower River Don Catchment - Flooding is possible for: River Don from Hexthorpe to Stainforth, including Swaith Dike and North Swaith Dike in Bentley 
  • River Went Catchment Flooding is possible for: The River Went and Hoyle Mill Stream from Ackworth Moor Top to the River Don.
  • River Idle in Nottinghamshire - Flooding is possible for: River Idle and tributaries from West Drayton to the confluence with the River Trent.

  • Be prepared to act on your flood plan.
  • Prepare a flood kit of essential items.
  • Avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
  • Farmers should consider moving livestock and equipment away from areas likely to flood.
  • Monitor local water levels on the Environment Agency website

  • Move things upstairs or to safety
  • Move family, pets and car to safety
