We are pleased to announce that this year’s Doncaster Leadership Network with a focus on Leadership for the Future .

This will be a face to face event at the Hilton Garden Inn, Doncaster Racecourse on 28^th November from 9:00 to 12:30.

Who will be speaking at the event?

Our first keynote speaker will be Pepe Di’lasio who is General Secretary of ASCL whose keynote is called ‘Current national policy risks and opportunities’.  Pepe was recently Headteacher at Wales High School, a 11-19 High school in Rotherham from September 2012 to March 2024. Some of you may be aware that Pepe began his teaching career in Doncaster before moving as Deputy Headteacher to an 11-19 outstanding school in Sheffield. Pepe has also worked as an Executive Headteacher of two high schools and more recently has been Assistant Director of Education for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. 

Also joining the session, is our second keynote speaker, who is Anne-Marie Canning MBE CEO of Brilliant Club. Anne-Marie also has roots in Doncaster and her keynote is called ‘From Carcroft to CEO: disrupting educational disadvantage’. Anne-Marie is the Chief Executive Officer of The Brilliant Club, a UK-wide university access charity focused on increasing the number of less advantaged students accessing the most competitive universities and supporting them to succeed when they get there.  In 2018 she was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to higher education. Prior to undertaking this role Anne-Marie was the independent chair of the Department for Education’s Bradford Opportunity Area and between 2012 and 2019 Anne-Marie was the Director of Social Mobility and Student Success at King’s College London.

Leaders in Doncaster will once again have the opportunity to network with others in the system, share best practice and have time to reflect on important leadership issues to come up with common solutions.

Doncaster’s Leadership Network is open to all leaders in our schools so please share the details of this with your leadership team. Please book your place by Thursday, 21st November at the latest via the BuyDoncaster website. 

Further details will be sent to delegates who have booked on nearer the time.  We look forward to seeing you all then and using this as an opportunity to bring all Doncaster school leaders together face to face.
