These are an annual event that celebrate best practice and the fantastic contribution made by colleagues from across the whole social care sector in South Yorkshire. This includes both adult and children’s services staff. The most recent event was on 10th October and it was a fantastic day for children’s social care staff.
Doncaster really did have a lot to shout about, and we had some fantastic winners. This includes Melissa Chinogureyi (ASYE of the year ) who has done some amazing work with a children in care as a Newly Qualified Worker. Mike Curtis (social care worker of the year) received an award for all his hard work in the residential and quality assurance world. We honoured our colleagues Lisa Harries, Ann Thompson, Melinda Gilmore and Nicola Wildsmith for their dedication to the children of Doncaster over the years, winning a joint Long Service Award.
Stacey Robson was runner up in the sought after Social Worker of the year and Lorna Mee scooped up runner up for Practice Educator of the year for her dedication to student and ASYE learning here in Doncaster. All the staff at Cromwell Drive deserve a massive shout out for their runner up for Team of the year for their dedication and hard work to the children they support.
All of the winners were selected from a pool of staff from across the four South Yorkshire authorities and we wanted to share their success with you. We hope that they are as proud of themselves as we are of them and would like to invite you to share your congratulations with them.
