Work & Skills Showcase Event Highlights

City of Doncaster Council recently held a Work and Skills Showcase event inviting local voluntary community faith sector organisations to come and learn about the many opportunities available to them around securing funding.

The audience were also introduced to the ‘You Can’ branding that will be featured over the next 12 months – the branding is underpinned by the Education and Skills Strategy 2030 - and created to show that anyone of any age or background can achieve their education and skills goals in Doncaster with case studies featuring local Doncaster residents.

The event was split into four areas to detail the opportunities:

  1. Employment and in work support – provision being delivered by a combination of direct and external commissioning – supporting Doncaster residents to move forwards and into work.
  2. Well Doncaster – supporting the voluntary, community and faith sector capacity and ensuring locality working – improving local skills, knowledge and resources.
  3. Adult Skills – the teams providing local, accessible learning that improves the health, wellbeing, skills and knowledge of individuals, families and communities.
  4. Remake Learning – one of the world’s largest open houses for hands-on learning for youth, families, grandparents and educators to discover creative ways of learning.
