Independent Reviewing Officers
You may come across IROs – otherwise known as Independent Reviewing Officers. They are the people who chair reviews for children living in children’s homes or foster care (sometimes called ‘looked after’ or ‘in care’) and make sure that a child's views and wishes are heard.
If you have an IRO they will talk to you to make sure that any future plans for you are what you want and are right for your future. They will also help tell social workers the views of your family too.
You can read a bit more about what IROs do and how they can help you if you are living in care by reading the below guide.
