Doncaster chosen as one of 25 trailblazer areas in England to transform Children and young people’s mental health services
The NHS is uniting with schools and colleges in 25 areas across England, including Doncaster, to provide expert mental health support for up to half a million pupils a year – part of the Government’s ambitious plans to transform children and young people’s mental health through the NHS Long-Term Plan.
Doncaster Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee today (19 February) gave the council’s vision to transform Doncaster Markets the green light, supporting the Cabinet decision to appoint Market Asset Management Ltd to run Doncaster and Mexborough markets.

Doncaster Council is inviting local businesses to share the Tour de Yorkshire spirit with the launch of a best dressed window competition to celebrate the major cycling event’s return to Doncaster in May.
An intensive action plan from Doncaster Council, South Yorkshire Police, St Leger Homes and health partners is making a positive impression in the town centre, tackling issues of homelessness, addiction, anti-social behaviour, crime, aggressive begging and drug dealing. Early results show that the initiative is working well.
