Doncaster Repair and Support Service (DRASS)

Doncaster Repair and Support Service carries out minor repairs and small maintenance jobs for elderly or disabled people who are unable to do the job themselves and who don't have anyone to help them.

Which jobs are covered by the scheme?

Please Note: Gardening services is not covered in the DRASS Scheme.

 

The Scheme does cover many Minor jobs in your home, examples below:

There is no charge for the labour, but materials will have to be supplied by the client.

Changing:

  • bath/sink sealant
  • curtains
  • fluorescent tubes
  • fuses
  • lampshades
  • light bulbs
  • plugs
  • toilet seats
  • vacuum cleaner bags and filters.

Repairing:

  • bleeding radiators
  • blocked sinks
  • leaking taps
  • making loose carpets safe

Fitting:

  • curtain rails
  • draught excluders
  • mirrors
  • pictures
  • shelves

General:

  • moving furniture in the home
  • Gutter clearing (Bungalow only)

Small repairs to:

  • fencing
  • garden gates
  • washing lines

Tidying to make safe (one off tasks):

  • garages
  • sheds

Fitting of:

  • battery-operated doorbells
  • bolts
  • carbon monoxide detectors
  • door chains
  • spy-hole viewers
  • window locks / door locks

Once you have been referred, we will make arrangements for an operative to call and deal with the problem where possible.
