As a foster carer, you will receive a weekly allowance, that is made up of two parts. You’ll receive a basic allowance to cover the cost of caring for a child and a skills fee, based on your expertise and length of service.

Can I afford to foster? Many people ask this question. There is no straightforward answer. It all depends on your own individual circumstances.
