The SEND Parent's Handbook has been co-produced with Doncaster parents and carers, Doncaster Parents' Voice (DPV) and other local partners to help parents and carers to navigate the local SEND system in schools.

The content in this handbook has been designed to empower parents and carers by equipping them with the knowledge of who is responsible for 'what' and 'when' within schools to ensure that children and young people receive the same entitlement to a good education and go on to achieve their full potential.

The handbook provides a summary of the SEND system in Doncaster and the journey a child or young person will take to get the support they need throughout their school life and into adulthood.
This handbook should be used alongside The Local Offer website which is Doncaster's online source of information for families about special educational needs and disabilities.
